Chicks, Mother's Day, Céilí, Crazy hat and hair day, Easter

We went to visit the baby chicks in room 4. We saw the chicks in the incubator just after they hatched from the eggs. We did beautiful writing in our copies.

We went to the Garden Centre at Newlands Cross and made a treat for our Mammy's for Mothers Day.  We planted two flowers into a pretty basket. We had to carry the basket all the way back to school. Remember Mammies that both of the flowers from the basket can be planted in the garden and they should come up every year to remind you of your child in junior infants :) We got to see the rabbits, birds and fish in the garden centre too.

When we got back to school we drew a map in our copies of the things we passed on the way to the garden centre. We did a great job.

We made beautiful Mothers Day cards to bring home for our Mammy's and the boys and girls tell us what makes their Mammy the best, have a read here if you missed it! ;)

We had our céilí in the hall. Teacher was so proud of us we did a great job doing 'An Damhsa Mór' for the whole school and some of us did freestyle dancing to Irish music at the end of the céilí too. We also sang and danced to the Irish song 'Sioraí Spraoi' with the rest of the school. we dressed up in green. It was so much fun.

We went back to visit the chicks when they were a bit bigger and we were allowed to hold the chicks and we made a big circle and we  let them run around.

We made up games in groups in PE.

We had crazy hair and hat day. Don't we look great :)

For Easter we made Bunny masks and chicks and we made Easter baskets out of clay and teacher filled our baskets with Easter treats.

Happy Easter from all of us in room 3.
